RIP Tami.

Today, December 22, 2009, Tami has passed away. She had shared a memorable 10-year life with us. She grew up with us, and is a big part of my childhood. I will miss you dearly. I am so sorry for the things I wasn’t able to do for you in times of your trouble and need. I apologize for being negligent at times and I am guilty for spending less time with you. I hope that you will rest in peace, you will be in my heart always. I hope you are happy and with God now.

RIP Tami.

Wonderful Retreat

So on November 21st, I didn’t celebrate my birthday. Too much stuff happened but let’s not dwell on that.

On November 23rd and 24th, we had our retreat. I have no words to say but “epic”, “amazing”, “fun”, “riot”. It was 2 days and 1 night, short but sweet. I am still in awe and I never thought this strong bond among us would be created just because of the retreat. The food was great, we ate 5 times a day. And the food was always more than enough. Too many dishes per meal. Wow. We never left the dining area with unsatisfied stomachs.

My birthday in 2 days!!

Yeah.. but too bad we have tree planting on my birthday.

My birthday in 2 days!!

My Father has a job.

I couldn’t get any happier. After almost 5 years of no decent job and after the failed investments. Wow. Congratulations to my dad. I’m speechless.

All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day

Today is November 1, 2009. Everyone here in the Philippines is off to the cemeteries and memorial parks to pray for their loved ones in accordance to this special event of the year.

But the thing that’s been bugging me for years is that Filipinos seem to confuse All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day. For those who still don’t know, we celebrate All Saint’s Day on the first day of November and All Souls’ Day on the second day.

All Saints’ Day (in the Roman Catholic Church officially the Solemnity of All Saints and also called All Hallows or Hallowmas[1]), often shortened to All Saints, is a solemnity celebrated on 1 November in Western Christianity, and on the first Sunday after Pentecost in Eastern Christianity in honor of all the saints, known and unknown.

-Wikipedia

In Western Christianity, All Souls’ Day commemorates the faithful departed. All Souls’ Day is also known as the Feast of All Souls, Commemoration of all the Faithful Departed. The Western celebration of All Souls’ Day is on 2 November and follows All Saints’ Day, which commemorates the departed who have attained the beatific vision

-Wikipedia

So I guess all of you now are on the same page as me right? I just don’t understand how people can confuse the two. They think it’s only one occasion. This is why people, especially Filipinos should learn how to read labels. It helps a lot sometimes. And now we wonder why the Americans and Europeans make fun of our race?

This Is It!

It’s already 2:28 in the morning but I am enjoying myself around Youtube.

Today has been an exhausting day, the official worldwide release date of Michael Jackson’s This Is It!

Since Michael Jackson’s departure from Earth (OK, I have bad sense of humor!), he has been in and out of trending topics on Twitter. Before he passed away, the King of Pop was scheduled to perform on a few dates for the final tour of his career and had been working hard in rehearsals for 3 months until his shocking death on June 25, 2009 stunned the world.

Fans and almost everyone in the world find it hard to grasp that Michael Jackson is dead and won’t be coming back anymore. His name is still all over the television, movies, radio, internet – name it! As people grieved for his death, some people close to him found his death a way to make money and have sold almost anything related to the late icon. The latest installment to the “Making Money out of MJ’s death” saga is the new documentary film “This Is It!” which covers the whole period of MJ’s tour preparations. It takes you to the King of Pop’s planning for the tour, audition for dancers, live rehearsals, meeting the cast and crew, and all that shiz. It takes you the closest you can get to the King of Pop. You can see all his creative input, how and why he’s called a “musical genius” in the first place and how he deeply and sincerely cares for this world.

The film starts off with some text saying “the footage was supposedly for Michael Jackson’s own private library” or something like that. Although I think it’s just another way of making money out of him, the movie is still worth watching and worth the wait – if only it was longer. The movie didn’t even last 2 hours!

Anyway, I’m just here to brag that I am one of the first few people to watch it! Yes, on October 28th at 6:20 pm, I watched it! GMT+8, 11 hours advanced to the United States! Woohoo! I bet you’re jealous.. lol kidding. Just watch it so you can relate to everyone else on Twitter!

brand new eyes – Paramore

I recently downloaded a copy of the highly anticipated follow-up album of Paramore 2nd album, Riot! entitled “brand new eyes“.Yes, the title of the album is supposed to be all-lowercase.

So. There are 11 tracks in the album and one factor that I noticed immediately is that their sound has changed a lot- they have evolved into mainstream rock, their songs are too slowed down compared to the previous ones. Another thing is that this album is a grower. It takes a few listens to really get down with it.

There are 11 tracks all in all:

1. Careful

2. Ignorance

3. Playing God

4. Brick by Boring Brick

5. Turn It Off

6. The Only Exception

7. Feeling Sorry

8. Looking Up

9. Where the Lines Overlap

10. Misguided Ghosts

11. All I Wanted

I won’t delve into the whole review for each track, but the album is far less catchier than the last album. In this album, Paramore has finally found their own identity but music-wise, nothing special here except that they tried to do a different sound for 2 tracks namely The Only Exception and Misguided Ghosts.

The best tracks are Ignorance, Playing God, Brick By Boring Brick, Looking Up, Where The Lines Overlap, Misguided Ghosts and The Only Exception.

cPanel 11.25.0 and WHM Accelerated 2

cPanel.net has recently released a new version of the widely-used cPanel.

cPanel 11.25.0 provides mechanisms to prevent Cross Site Request Forgery attacks.

All versions of cPanel prior to version 11.25.0 are vulnerable to cross site request forgery attacks. Cross-site request forgery, often abbreviated as CSRF or XSRF, exploits the trust a website has in a user’s browser. By exploiting that trust a malicious user can execute unauthorized commands on a website.

cPanel 11 users should upgrade to version 11.25.0 which contain mechanisms to prevent these types of attacks. To insure full protection, the following options in Tweak Settings are strongly recommended to be enabled:

  • Require security tokens for all interfaces. This will greatly improve the security of cPanel and WHM against XSRF attacks, but may break integration with other systems, login applications, billing software and third party themes.
  • Validate the IP addresses used in all cookie based logins. This will limit the ability of attackers who capture cPanel session cookies to use them in an exploit of the cPanel or WebHost Manager interfaces. For this setting to have maximum effectiveness, proxydomains should also be disabled.
  • Disable Http Authentication for cPanel/WebMail/WHM Logins (forces cookie authentication.) This will help prevent certain types of XSRF attacks that rely on cached Http Auth credentials.

In addition it is recommended the following Tweak Settings be disabled:

  • Add proxy VirtualHost to httpd.conf to automatically redirect unconfigured cpanel, webmail, webdisk and whm subdomains to the correct port (requires mod_rewrite and mod_proxy)
  • Automatically create cpanel, webmail, webdisk and whm proxy subdomain DNS entries for new accounts. When this is initially enabled it will add appropriate proxy subdomain DNS entries to all existing accounts. (Use /scripts/proxydomains to reconfigure the DNS entries manually)

WHM however had a total make-over with new icons and more features. :)

This Is It!

Michael Jackson’s new single, “This Is It” premiered yesterday. The new single will be played at the end of the “This Is It” documentary movie of the late King of Pop which will show us never-before-seen and behind-the-scenes footage of the King of Pop’s supposed comebackĀ  tour.

The track was recorded in 1993, with backing vocals from the Jackson 5. TheĀ  song sounds good to me. Hear it for yourself.

On other news, I received my yearbook photos now. OMFG I look so.. blunt. and funny. lol I’ll tell you guys all about it next time. Catch me tweeting. XD
